Students in Quintana Roo face significant barriers to accessing high quality culinary education and career opportunities. The young women we serve are disproportionately impacted by these obstacles due to cultural and family expectations. Your support will help us make our culinary education even more accessible to the students who need it the most.

Mobile Hotspot - $30

Completing online coursework is difficult for students who don’t have internet access- like Yhadira. Yhadira shared with us how difficult it is to rely on the single computer at her local internet cafe to complete her assignments. Help us provide a month of mobile hotspot service to students who need internet access for just $30 so they can complete their assignments.

Transportation - $75

Vasti lives in the small village of San Angel, about 25 minutes from Casa Hope. Few families own cars here, and transportation is expensive- with taxis costing approximately $75/week. This makes the short commute to Casa Hope a real challenge. Your $75 donation today will ensure that access to reliable transportation isn’t a barrier to receiving world-class culinary education at the Hands Offering Hope Culinary Institute for young women like Vasti.

Childcare - $300

Beatriz has a 5 month old daughter who inspires her to pursue her dream of becoming a chef. While Beatriz is lucky to have help from her family in providing childcare, not all young mothers have that same support network to rely on. Paying for childcare is a challenge for young women in particular, and one that we’d like to help them overcome. Will you donate $300 to cover one month of childcare costs for someone like Beatriz?

Increase Representation

For the young women in our program to succeed, they need to see and connect with women who have walked this path before them. First Year student Lluvia shared “Often, because we are women, we do not have the same opportunities in the workplace. I would like to be the change- I want to show that you can be a great chef regardless of gender.” Representation matters, and your support can help us ensure that the girls like Lluvia are surrounded by powerful female role models who show them that they can be the change.

Dinner in Cancun - $100

Your gift of $100 will help us send each of the girls in our culinary program to dinner at a high end restaurant in Cancun. Many of the young women in our program have never been to restaurants like this before. Experiences like this inspire our students and give them their first real taste of what they can achieve.

Workshop with Top Chef - $750

Bringing in the best chefs from around the world is part of what makes our program so special. Your $750 donation will cover airfare and housing as we bring in women who are at the very top of their field to provide specialized workshops to our students. These focused workshops provide our students with valuable skills and show what is possible with a career in the culinary arts.

Internship - $1,000

Help us provide one of our students an internship in a vetted restaurant kitchen. We are building out our network of commercial kitchens throughout Mexico to provide our students with valuable internship opportunities. We will ensure that our restaurant partners share our commitment to empowering young women- and that their kitchens are a safe place for our students. Help us send each one of our girls to an internship that will challenge and inspire her with a gift of $1,000.

Help Fund Tuition

Adaly and Rebeca have big dreams to own their own businesses when they complete their study at the Culinary Institute. But attending school comes at a high cost- not just tuition and related expenses, but also time that could be spent working and earning money. Many students, like Adaly, have parents who are unable to support them financially. Others, like Rebeca, have their own children they need to provide for. They are relying on people like you, who see their potential, to help cover the cost of their tuition and related expenses.

One Month - $500

Your gift of $500 covers a month of learning safe food handling, knife skills, leadership principles, and so much more for a student like Rebeca. One of the first things the students will learn? Our core values of courage, humility, respect, empathy, and integrity. Because more than anything else, that is what will define the next generation of culinary leaders.

One Semester - $2,500

A $2,500 donation will fund an entire semester of world-class culinary education. From how to organize and manage a station to preparing and plating exceptional dishes- our students receive robust and well-rounded training that prepares them to succeed in any restaurant kitchen.

One Year - $5,000

By the end of their first year, students like Adaly have learned so much more than how to be a great chef. They have learned how to be a great leader. They demonstrate professionalism inside and outside of the kitchen, including clear communication, problem-solving, and collaboration. They are well on their way to a successful career- whether it’s working in a resort restaurant in Playa del Carmen or starting their own bakery in Kantunilkín.
